The Memorial Fund
The Brandy Rosine Memorial Fund has raised 2500 dollars for the purchase of the memorial bench on the campus of Youngstown State University.
Additional funds will be collected for an annual scholarship to be gifted to a Boardman High School Graduate for 1500 dollars. Brandy graduated from BHS in 2010.
Our EIN for this memorial fund is 45-5363221.
If you are a Boardman High School student interested in applying for this scholarship, please download and fill out this Brandy Rosine Memorial Scholarship Application!
Gifts for Donations:
Donors may be interested in receiving lighters, wristbands, or tee shirts.
The wristbands began it all. In June of 2012 when I was trying to think of a way to get people involved to help the Stevens-Rosine family, Brandy’s friend Sara Van Halen reached out to me with a grand idea; ask for donations with wristbands. I initially ordered 100 wristbands because I am a starving artist and that was the best I could do.
The response was AMAZING. People were willing to help and happy to have something they could wear every day to remember and honor Brandy. The next time I ordered the wristbands, I was able to order 1,000 and we still bring them with us to the Oktoberfest yearly where we set up a table and paint faces. Face-painting and wristband donations have largely funded the memorial bench and the funds for the scholarship.
Please inquire about the color availability of the wristbands if you would like one. Above is an image of the last batch that was purchased. Most say “Brandy Rosine :)” on one side and “Swing Life Away” on the other. (Swing Life Away is a song by Rise Against – one of Brandy’s thousands of favorite bands.)
These lighters were purchased as something I could hand out at the candlelight vigil in 2015. I was looking for a way to lighten the mood. I know that Brandy wouldn’t like to see us all moping while we honor her memory. We take the remaining lighters with us to the Boardman Rotary Oktoberfest for donations for those who don’t want their faces painted!
Carrie purchased these tee shirts as well for donations, as it became obvious that family and friends would like to have them. Please also ask me or Carrie about color/size availability in these if you are interested.
